Question for the Culture
Deanna Joseph
Owner, Dreamy Kids Salon Licensed Cosmetologist + Barber | Children's Hair Specialist

Why Deanna Was Selected for Archive 003
Deanna Joseph was selected for Archive 003 because her work shows what it means to build something meaningful with patience, skill, and care.
As the owner of Dreamy Kids Salon, Deanna has created more than a place for children's haircuts.
She has built an experience rooted in trust.
A space where children are met with patience.
Where families feel supported.
Where expertise is not only shown through technique, but through the ability to make people feel comfortable, seen, and cared for.
Deanna brings more than a decade of expertise, training, and skill to her work.
Her journey reflects the cost of becoming.
The education.
The hours.
The cosmetology training.
The barbering training.
The classes.
The practice.
The investment.
The slow building.
And the patience required to keep going when building something meaningful does not happen quickly.
Her work is especially meaningful because she serves children who may need extra patience, sensory awareness, comfort, and support during the salon experience.
That requires more than talent.
It requires emotional intelligence.
It requires preparation.
It requires gentleness.
It requires knowing how to make both the child and the family feel safe.
That is why Deanna was selected for Archive 003.
Because building from the ground up is rarely as fast or as easy as people imagine.
It requires patience.
It requires preparation.
It requires community.
And it requires the willingness to keep investing in the next version of yourself before the full picture has arrived.
Deanna's story reminds us that building something meaningful is not always loud.
Sometimes, it looks like hours of training.
Years of practice.
A steady hand.
A calm presence.
And the patience to create a space where people feel cared for.
Archive 001 with Ariana Reyes reminded us to give ourselves space to learn.
Archive 002 with Martie Bowser invited us to define success for ourselves.
Archive 003 with Deanna Joseph brings us back to the reality of the build.
The hours behind the skill.
The patience behind the business.
And the support behind anything meaningful enough to last.
The Question
You've been doing hair for almost ten years now. What cost you the most on your journey to becoming who you are today, but you still would not change or regret?
Her Answer
“Every experience is training for the next step you may take in life.”
Education.
It has been one of my biggest investments thus far.
1,500 hours of cosmetology training, 500 hours of barbering, and countless hours of classes. It adds up, but all for good reason.
I would not change the path I have taken for anything.
Every experience is training for the next step you may take in life.
The Follow-Up
What is something people misunderstand about building something meaningful from the ground up?
Her Answer
“Nothing is easy, and some things are slow.”
The ease and speed of things.
Nothing is easy, and some things are slow.
Patience is the only reason I have made it this far.
I chose a career and business path where I can offer patience and expertise.
Along with that, you do need support.
Feeling like you have to do it all and do it all by yourself is overrated, even though I partake in this a lot myself.
Every time I ask for help and reach out to loved ones, they always show up.
Build a team and support them the way they support you.
